Run your Salesforce org like a team of one with an AI agent. You will connect Claude Code to a practice org, investigate problems with SOQL before changing anything, fix access and automation tickets, and prove each fix works for the person who reported it.

Written for: Salesforce administrators, often the only one in the organisation, including non-profit operations and CRM staff. No coding background required.

  1. Configure an authenticated Salesforce CLI org alias and a Claude Code workspace for a Salesforce org.
  2. Query org data and metadata with SOQL and the Tooling API to diagnose a reported issue before changing anything.
  3. Diagnose and fix a permission, sharing or field-level security ticket using permission sets and permission set groups.
  4. Verify a fix under the affected user's permissions and record evidence that it is done.
  5. Select the right automation layer (Flow, Apex trigger or roll-up) for a business requirement and justify the choice.
  6. Write an org-specific CLAUDE.md that encodes safety rules an agent must follow in your org.

    Four layers of access

  • You give Claude Code a ticket. It proposes sf commands, your permission rules decide whether each runs, the Salesforce CLI runs it against your org, and the JSON result comes back to the agent. You review the evidence.

    The agent loop

  • A decision tree of four questions. A report, list view or formula needs no automation. A count or sum under master-detail is a roll-up summary field. A job a record-triggered flow can do is Flow. Anything else is an Apex trigger with tests.

  • A free Salesforce Developer Edition org (no cost; sign-up is part of Module 1)
  • Claude Code access (Claude Pro or Team plan, or an Anthropic API key), provided and paid for by the employer. Not included in tuition. Learners must not pay for any part of this training.
  • A Mac, Windows or Linux computer where you can install the Salesforce CLI
